Make sure to keep the filter holder clean. Just make one last espresso without coffee in the basket daily after finishing to make the coffees. It flushes out coffee remaining inside in the valve. Once in a month or 6 weeks, use a coffee cleaner (powder, tablet or liquid) to flush the filter holder.
