PGL-4 Food Grade Lube 4-Oz. tube. Pack of 4 tubes. This is heavy duty lube. It can be used on all O-rings and gaskets to reduce wear and ensure proper sealing. It only takes a thin film.
Petrol Gel is a heavy duty sanitary lubricant with high load bearing and low friction properties. This lubricant is NSF approved (rated H1) for use in food processing plants for incidental food contact. All ingredients are FDA approved.
Petrol Gel provides a protective coating to all metal parts. A thin film will retain effectiveness on bearings, slides, and other lubricated surfaces despite moisture. By staying on the work area, corrosion of metal is minimized. This sanitary lubricant is highly resistant to separation or bleeding. It will not dry or gum on your equipment. To change old lube in a Gear motor, clean the old lube and apply Petrol Gel like Cream cheese on a Bagel.

1- Descale the machine every two or three months, for optimum water temperature and full jet of steam. Regular descaling helps to eliminate 70% of malfunctions and extends the life of the machine. It is the single most important maintenance for all espresso machines. Cleancaf, Cafiza, Joe Glow, Brew Rite, Pulycaff are products sold as descaler but they contain only Baking soda which is totally ineffective. Automated electronic descaling does not clean espresso side of the machine.
Use of Vinegar, R.O water or Distilled water does not eliminate descaling. It damages the boiler wall and gaskets.

2- Avoid using dark roast oily beans. Oily beans and fine powdery grind setting makes over extracted coffee and clogs coffee grinder, cause malfunctions and damage to grinder. Strong Coffee is made with less water (2-Oz or less).
3- Do not refrigerate beans. They absorb moisture and clog and rust the grinder burrs. Clean coffee grinder (Built in or stand alone) every three months.

5- Calibrate the quality of espresso every day by making espresso in a Shot glass. A shot glass limits the coffee size and allows visual check of espresso quality, showing the color of espresso and the thickness of Crema.
